Echo Sprint Triathlon
Last week was an interesting training week because the Echo Tri was waiting for me on Saturday. Early in the year I set a goal to place in my age group and I had a feeling Echo was the place to do it. The bike was going to be flat with a few key places to drop the hammer and really push my pace. The run was also along a flat (but dirt) trial that ran parallel to the reservoir. It was hot by the time we got off the bikes and the dry dirt didn't help.
The transition area was moved to "new" location...on freaking dirt. Dirt + Water = mud. Everyone's gear and feet were caked with mud.
The water was a balmy 70 degrees. The swim moved fast around the three cone 800m course. Here are the results of the race.
