Suffer

Why would a person willing subject themselves to suffering and pain?  Most spend life trying to removing suffering from their life, but I have recently been reminded that it is through suffering that we learn patients, diligence, fortitude, passion, love and courage.  Suffering is the Lord's way of teaching us who we are and what we hold most dear.

"To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering." Friedrich Nietzsche

"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved." Helen Keller

I am interested in having a strong character and becoming a better man each day.
