My basement has turned into a transition area. My wife hates all my stuff, but at any moment who knows what outfit I am going to throw on and run out the door in.
Kristin and I rode together, along with Ava, on Saturday. I hooked Ava to the back of my bike along with a bunch of other junk. We rode for about 14 miles and then dropped Ava off at my parents and ran a short 3 mile race paced run around the neighborhood. Dragging my daughter behind me was the perfect family biking scenario. She pulled back on me enough that Kristin could lead and we could stay together at a pace that provided a great training ride. Dragging a 35 pound kid in a trailer loaded with swimming supplies is going to be my pre-race warm-up.
"One of the great tragedies we witness almost daily is the tragedy of men of high aim and low achievement. Their motives are noble. Their proclaimed ambition is praiseworthy. Their capacity is great. But their discipline is weak. They succumb to indolence. Appetite robs them of will." -Gordon B. Hinckley.

Bike route took us along Highland Drive past Hog's Wallow and up to Wasatch Blvd and then home along 3900 south.
